Plan B sponsor NBT Exceptional Healthcare Award
Last Friday 8th November, we supported North Bristol NHS Trust’s event for the Exceptional Healthcare Awards, sponsoring the Best Improvement in Patient Experience Award, recognising teams & individuals who made exceptional changes to their working environment throughout the year.
With thanks to Southmead Hospital Charity, over 350 healthcare heroes were nominated by their colleagues for recognition of their tremendous contributions to 14 different categories.
Unfortunately we were unable to attend the event, so we were represented by NBT’s Director of Nursing, Helen Blanchard, who presented 3 nominees with an award in the Best Improvement in Patient Experience category.
Congratulations to our nominees & winners!
We’d like to congratulate all 12 nominations, with a special mention to our 3 winners:
The Rheumatology department’s Living Well with Inflammatory Arthritis Team, who provided an innovative course to help patients experiencing fatigue, pain & depression. The team received outstanding feedback from patients, reporting on how their assistance made a significant difference to how they felt throughout their treatment.
Endometriosis Clinical Nurse Specialist, Jane Burton, set up her own nurse-led clinics in addition to other extended efforts to excel in her position and improve patient experience. Whilst receiving consistently brilliant feedback from patients, she helped reduce waiting times as well as enable more support & continuity of care.
Infant feeding advisor, Cathy Budd, was commended for her dedication to improving unit standards for the experience of families. Her achievements included: helping introduce meal vouchers for families, reclining chairs for new mothers and unrestricted access to visiting their newborns.
Well done to all who organised, sponsored and partook in the event and, once again, a special congratulations to our winners!
